Engineers demonstrated a lot of new worlds in the 1960s:
- The Space Race
- Tokyo Olympics was first global live broadcast- real time connecting of most of human race; unfortunately the new age of world famous celebrity platforms was confined to music and sports and missed ways of timely human-centric recognition of intelligence engineers greatest leaps;
- The legacy of Neumamn-Einstein-Turing compounded as 3 by million fold tech accelerating platforms - what electronics engineers minaturised with silicon; what was designed with computer brains with million times more maths capacity than human minds; how satellites link data maps potentially twinning all locations on earth,
EINSTEIN TEST: Fortunately we can time travel to 2026, today artificial intelligence (notably its 5th layer's connection with scaling apps communities most need) can be celebrated round at least 19 wonderful human advances but only if everyone is freed to join in.

ENGINEERS (ARTIFICIAL DESIGNERS) GREATEST HITS BEFORE BLOG DIARIES
Late 1750s Glasgow University Peers Adam Smith & James Watt foresee risks in inventing "combustion" machines with thousands of horsepower- will humans artificial systems and moral sentiments align openly with nature's compound demands? generation after generation? across every hemisphere and gps and space>
1860s locus of engineering leaps turns to central Europe- telecoms and electricity grids- Swizerland appointed as open standards mediator
February Austria Switherland Hungary -GASH RULES from 1905 but 2 woeld wars spin -(Einstein publishes e=mcsquared - all of mans sciences need exponential correction - physical energy,product chemistry, living systems biology, earths meteorology ..) Hungarian von neumann - world's best mathematician over last third of century of lives of Neumann-Einstein-Turing - his last notes computer and brain clarify algorithmic needs spanning from atomic energy to computing satellites and silicon chips
Von Neumann and Einstein move residence to princeton but von neumann ensures cavendiash lab updated (in 1936 all of Neumann Turing Keynes and Taiwan HT Li work in Cambridge within minutes walk of each other)- cavendish lab has west coast twin at Berkeley's Lawrrence Lab (world;s number 1 of layer 1 of ai - see also Genesis 26 lighthouse projects)
At linkedin group AIWHI we discuss how 1960s was last decade that 3 great empires - US, UK, Japan - agreed their responsibilities to remaining 92% of human brains. Back in 1983, Norman and Chris Macrae co-autheoed 2025Report. Our purpose to argue that as intelligence machines changed generational possibilities, all public servants needed to value both 8 billion living brains and next 4 billion born with as much trust as 1960s. In 2026 it is fascinating to see where Data Sovereignty AI is celebrating that collaboration possibility - for example many of history's worst diseases could now be resolved by deep data cooperation mapping
MAPPING WORLD WITH HUMAN BRAINS FROM SPACE OR 1000 FEET
I refer to family logbooks starting 1943 - borderless stories in human endeavour were seen from 1000-20000 feet by my father Norman Macrae who was spending his last days as teenager navigating planes in allied Bomber Command Burma Campaign. My maternal grandfather Kenneth Kemp was being asked by London to return from being Bombay's Chief Justice to start sub-editing India's Independence. Geoffrey Crowther in London who edited The Economist for nearly 20 years was publishing centenary learning curve on how economists hadnt been able to avoid 2 world wars.
Happily dad, with mental maps 2 generations before google survived; to be one of last students Keynes mentored at Cambridge; was hired by Crowther to go interview engineers. Crowther had worked out that economists and journalists had failed to stay ahead of energy and other engineering advances. V0n Neumann peer group including Einstein and Turing helped developed an iq quiz for economist journalists. They foresaw million times "moore" laws cubed Moores' chips, what's now Jensen's computers designed for deep data, and satellites eg ^G up transferring data between communities and clouds. By 1960 all of JF Kennedy, UK and Japan Royals foresaw it was time to invest in decade long goals eg moonshots and to unite not just east west hemispheres in trade and transgenerational trust but also energising south north connections with earth's as well as humans diversity. Soon after Kennedy's assassination the cold war spiraled ending trust in developing all nations with US and Russia racing to sponsor dictators however much debt this trapped most human brains in. What humanity urgently needs AI to tool is intelligence of ai agents and humans to unite - have a look at AIWHI - and help us map open intelligence community actions.
MORE ON CROWTHER- KINGS ENGLISH JOURNALISMS FIRST COMMON SENSE & TECH FUTURISTY
Economist editor Geoffrey Crowther analysed first 100 years of The Economist 1843-1943 and found that economists and media men had exponentially failed to keep up with engineering innovation
So he sent Norman Macrae (a rookie journalist who had survived being teenage navigator allied bomber command Burma campaign) to Prinecton/NY for year 1951/52 primarily to train with V Neumann and his cooperation with (Einstein 1, Turing) the first Intelligence Engineers.
It would be a shock that all three parted by 1957- still Neumann had ensured IBM understood computer design, he expected Neural Networking algorithms to be key, he anticapated at least 3 waves of million times more tec\h would change most lifetimes round brainwoking. He specified key crireria- design above zero sum trading games; ensure these linkon health and learning, and thence Energy & Peace in remapping a world uniting peoples and places round the abundant models of natutre's science Einstein 1 2 3 had first published in 1905 (and 1919 on)
here are some of the conseqiences 1970-1951 of interviewing leaders with the benefits of intelligence engineers foresights
