About 115 years of notes on Cambriudge (Cantab) in Asia, America and World

I would need to spend a day in Cambridge libraries to reverify some exact dates but my understanding 3 male generations on both sides of my family tree- all went to corpus christi Cambridge- Duncan would have been there around 1910; I know that cos he was aiming to get a phd at Heidelberg in divinty (generation od macraes being free church missionaries) when world war 1 broke- being on of relative few young Brits speaking german he became minor spy and spent rest of his working life in embassies mainly as lead intel searchers on the bads of hitler and stalin; my dad norman was home schooled in embassies like stalins moscow ,where he first met drucker , until boarded at mill hill, stsrring at corpus 1942? only to become teen navigator alled bomber command Burma campaign ; surviving he returned to corpus married his best best friend's sistrer whose dad was writing up legalese of Indua;s independence- the kemps had spent generations as pharmacists (bombay kemps corner) and nurses before Kenneth became bar of london barrister and bombay chief justice for 20 years mediating Mahatmna Gandhi; Economist editor Geoffrey Crowrher hired dad for a special project- Crowr=ther had just completed centenary biogrsapghy of Economist v1843-1943; he concluded as system designer economists could not keep up with engineers so he arranged that von neumann pre-train future journalism purposed around Smithian Economic goals and the NET' Neumann Einstein Turing)s gits of brainworkers machines

so here are a few other notes from our diaries - sorry if we leap back and forth on the giant snakes and ladders gameboard that human race since 1900 seems to have been flatlanded on 9more fomrally you can see 2025report diaries published since 1983 or dads normanmacrae.net articles in the economist or his shared notes with von neumann family from 1951 and indeed John's biographer ;all errors are mine - you can correct or question me aqt chris.macrae@yahoo.co.uk +1 240 316 8157 -if you send a joyful message pls tell me wherher you want to be quoted ot if chatham riles app. I am just a Diaspora Scot- probably the most party politivcal clueless person but I have seen so much data especially across Asia- what fun it would be to deep data LLM ...)

CURRENT Idea of a group AI-Cambridge in America or some such is urgent

new urgency last 10 days my friend Nobel Laureate dr yunus has been asked to design roadmap within 100 days for future of women empowered Bangladesh; UN leader Guterres and Macron have offered full support ; UK less clear even though King Charles (historically Charles wrote preface for yunus book "Banker for the Poor) and his Bletchley AI summit comes to France in January and can unite with youth Olympics futures- Yunus main partnership with Paris for long time now has been Olympics - Mayor of Paris 3 day event before the Olympics involve connecting this

Meanwhile DC has hit the jackpot or rather all of Bloomberg's foundation money; his main thing connect 100 mayors but the sustainable community grounded intelligence they need is researched through his alma mater john Hopkins; this is branded original and largest us research university; 100 chairs are being created but only when they each have a dual discipline-  Hopkins generates research beyond separate projects  in terms of continuity beyond political cycles of NIH Or CDC OT NSF, and DoE (all of nation's 13 super computer locations and 7500 staff are coordinated out of DoE as axios clarified recently) - and with piloting of NAIRRs conceived with Fei-Fei Li (congress testimony 2018) and chips act all of this comes together through dc -this can make Harris exciting and entrepreneur-wise to younger people especially women scientists if anything ever can
In effect with King Charles, deep mind Demis Hassabis, arm, Cambridge business park, 250 million protein databank- the UK  , DC and Silicon Valley can now help each other and commonwealth countries eg Bangladesh, Barbados like never before . If the Kings English LLM has to be different game than American LLM - let 96% of humans work it out. Maybe there's a Churchill update on this

My family's main connections over 40 years linkin Japan good and Hong Kong and Singapore as well as Bangladesh so how do i find out with this is synergetic with joe white's purpose and is there any way to work out which Cambridge in america locations may wanted to linkin these mapping exercises

Bonus points the person at national science foundation in charge of the pilot of the Nairr is very friendly with an AI professor at judge business school! And of course Joe’s wife Wendy Tan White from Myanmar – nearly million refugees there also depend on yunus succeeding. At google Tan White is ultimately responsible for autonomous engines impacts which (privately) is best in her safe hands

2025-1993 -third of century transformed human possibilities

 profile picture

Is this a correct statement?; in 1993 Jensen Huang started Nvidia to design computers for uses that were all but impossible with the 20th C CPU (Central Processing Unit computer) ,which analyses data in one dimensional sequence. Today almost every innovation use of computers depends on the accelerated computing platform that Nvidia has pioneered;

GEMINI

That's a very accurate statement.

Jensen Huang's founding of NVIDIA in 1993 marked a pivotal moment in the evolution of computing. The limitations of traditional CPUs, which processed data sequentially, became increasingly apparent as the complexity of tasks grew.

NVIDIA's pioneering work in developing GPUs, initially for graphics rendering, led to the creation of a platform capable of parallel processing, significantly accelerating computations. This breakthrough has been instrumental in powering advancements in fields such as artificial intelligence, scientific computing, data science, and more.

Essentially, NVIDIA's accelerated computing platform has become the foundation for many of the technological innovations we see today, making your statement highly accurate.

nb also linear computing is most costly on energy the deeper the data; see this week axios ai sustainability on eg how america's largest computers in the world aim to be most efficient ever on compute

If you have time for one giant leap this 2015 video introduces how total revolution in AI - deep learning came about - and ends with an extraordinary update of how Elon Musk saw Tesla in 2015  https://video.ibm.com/recorded/60025825

If you want to see 33 years of extraordinary focus - coming soon short invitations to pop into the exponential rise  after 1993 at 1995 1997 1998 2001 2004 2009 2012 , annually from 2014, pretty much every 3 months now. From 2001 it might have been relevant to rebrand silicon valley accelerated computing value as this is a story of how extraordinary partners compounded an ecosystem - the one that now makes california 4th largest economy in the world. (And please note Nvidia wouldn't exist without Maurice Chang and the people of Taiwan. (AS a diaspora scot , Taiwan people and Taiwan Diaspora are my current greatest heroes)

If you'd like to play a 500 intelligence game here is slide 1 of 5 with a cross section of 100 intelligences that we see multiplying each other and offering humanity's best futures as well as some risks we all need to help prevent - choose one name mail me chris.macrae@yahoo.co.uk ; names who have innovated since 1993

I bill try to show why they needed the new accelerated computing platforms; names active before 1993 I will try and relate to my fathers biography of von neumann as well as norman macrae's dialogues at The Economist inspired by correspondence with neumann 1951 to his death 1957 and who's who of leaders inspired by von neumann/Economist beginning with John F Kennedy, Prince Charles and Japanese Emperor family (dad was awarded MBE by Charles and Order of Rising Sun with silk ribbon and gold bars for helping Japan connect win-win economies (starting with brilliant move of prince charles to invite sony's akio morita to inward invest in Wales when the teenage prince had been UK;'s envoy to Tokyo Olympics 1964

KIng Charles AI World Series

===================================Coming soon a list of 20+ different sorts of partners needed to linkin the whole new world of computer from founder of pixar for new coding, to club of 18000 startups in most youthful cities, to apollo missions eg revolutions in biotech (Deep Mind has open sourced 250 million proteins so now in silico pharma is arguably health's greatest ever opportunity)  and hopefully climate science to robotics and ...
